Sargent #409Type 5 Smoothing Plane – Circa 1942-1950
This is the Sargent plane, as it was found.
So in this post, I’m going to show the restoration process of this Sargent hand plane. For brevity, most of the commentary will be in notations on the images. This is not an expensive plane by any means, but it was definitely a restorable plane, and I couldn’t just throw it away.
