Making Lobo’s Doghouse

This is Lobo !
This isn’t Lobo…this is Schultz, the doghouse for Lobo was patterned after the two I built years ago for two german shepherds we used to have. You can sort of see them in the background behind him. Apparently, I didn’t ever really take many pictures of them, this was the only one I could find.
UPDATE: I found 3 more images of the old doghouses. These are after both dogs had passed, and the houses are approx 15 years old or maybe a year or two older… but 15 is very close.

The doghouses after 15 years, great shape except the trim needs repainted.
Side view of the old doghouses.
Another angle. The one on the right is actually slightly taller than the one on the left, it’s not just an optical illusion. Looks pretty good for being 15 years old eh ? 🙂

Below is the set of pictures showing the dog house build.  It was between two and three hundred pounds when completed.  It’s a pretty substantial doghouse.  2×4 walls, 3/4″ treated plywood floor, 4×4 runners to set on, with shingles and vinyl siding.    This first image is the quick jig I made to cut the rafter parts.

Back was added.
The front wall added…pretty beefy huh ? 🙂

Doghouse pulled out of the barn with pallet jack… yeah, it’s heavy.

Ok.. yeah, that’s me, ugly mug and all, I’m just there to show the scale/size of the doghouse.
It took two of use to load and deliver this to it’s final destination.
