This weighs in at 37.6 pounds and is quite heavy when compared to the
previous rip fence that came with the saw. On amazon it has a 4.2 out of
5 stars for a rating. Not bad, but some people seem to expect $500
quality for $179, and their expectations are slightly out of whack. I
can honestly say this is the nicest rip fence I’ve had on one of my own
saws. While it isn’t top of the line, it’s a HUGE improvement over
almost any “contractor grade” rip fence that you would get with the saw.
If your saw has a cast iron top that measures 27″ front to back, I can
tell you this fits perfectly. If your on the “fence” lol, don’t
hesitate, it’s a good deal.
The saw is an older Delta Contractor saw. The fence was no longer available from Sears. I had the saw for about a year before I snapped the pot-metal/aluminum front on the fence. As you can maybe see from the images below, there wasn’t a good way to fix this issue, at least none that I had figured out or found. Pictures removing the old rip fence and rails. The new rails didn’t quite line up on the back side to the holes, top spacing and width spacing were off. I ended up drilling out new holes and tapping the table for the new locations. I was pretty excited when it was all finish, finally able to use the table saw again after several years of it just gathering dust. A great addition to a mediocre table saw.
